Case Study 5-11- DEVELOPING A SYSTEM SELECTION PLAN
Scenario: Your facility does not have an existing voice recognition system. You are part
of the 5-member team responsible for selecting a voice recognition system for your facility.
The functional requirements and the request for proposals (RFP) have been developed.
The RFP is due back from the vendors in 1 week. Your facility wants to make the decision
about which system to choose within 3 months. Your assignment is to evaluate the RFPs
returned and to develop a plan to guide the team in the evaluation and selection of the
final system.
Additional Instruction:
To answer these questions, you may use information discussed in class (Chapter 14) and
various chapters from your Sayles text. In addition, you can use information based on
research from reliable sources, such as AHIMA or any other source you deem appropriate.
You may also interview a healthcare professional who has a level of expertise in the
subject matter.
