This is the questions: How does Mill’s Utilitarian ethics form the
foundation for his social/political philosophy? How does this compare to
Marx Materialist Dialectic and his arguments for Communism? Which is
the correct basis for forming the best governmental institutions? Why or
why not? Here is my response: The way that Mill’s Utilitarian
ethics forms the foundation for his social/political philosophy is
described below: Mill first calls attention to that administration
should just avoid mischief to different individuals from society, not
constrain whatever other conduct from the person. After, he went on for
an Utilitarian argument which stated that a watchful appraisal of
general joys and agonies illuminate us that we are happiest when left to
commit our own particular errors or our own particular way regardless,
as opposed to having government decide such for us. This statement at
the same time forms the foundation for his social/political philosophy.
More clearly, it is saying like this we are happiest when we have
freedom on our actions and the task for the government is simply to
protect our behaviors away from interfering with others’ activities. In
Comparison, Marx Materialist Dialectic is a dialectical process which
means that an inside administered developmental cycle in which progress
happens as the aftereffect of a battle between two contradicting
conditions. Marx argument for Communism is that: 1. He argues that class
structure is like the classless proletariat. 2. He argues that the
economic structure is the mutual generation of merchandise and
administrations expanded by innovation assets. 3. He argues that
productive developments are parity of assets; Material Equality of
requirements and generation. 4. He argues that foundational ideas are
Post-Enlightenment which is being comprehended inside the mutual
presence; individual subsumed for the benefit of all. I think Mill’s
view is the correct basis for forming the best governmental
institutions. I am in the same view as Mill. I think that we should have
freedom for our actions and the government should not put the limit on
to our actions. That is due to different people consider an action is
bad or good in different ways. I think that whether an action is right
or wrong always changes. A wrong action can be change to the right
action in special situations based on the result. For example, a mother
criticized her son is wrong when the son has no fault, but if she do
that when the son make a mistake then she is right. And even though, the
mother make a mistake and criticized the son when he has no fault, but
after she apology to the son and the son feels no harm no more then the
government should not punish her mother. In this case, the government’s
task is to prevent the son get hurt by his mother. For example, if the
mother criticized the son and spank the son with massive strength, now
the son will be harmful, and the government had better stop the mother
and protect the son. Overall, I agree with Mill’s view.I
